LeaseLink is a simple, data-driven website that helps USC students find, post, and review housing and sublease opportunities. Many students struggle to find short-term, affordable housing during internships, study abroad, or summer breaks. Others have leases they need to sublet quickly, but existing tools like Facebook groups are unorganized and unreliable.
The site creates a centralized hub where students can:
Post subleases with rent, dates, and housing type.
Search dynamically by neighborhood, price, or lease length.
Leave reviews on landlords, roommates, and safety.
See insights such as average prices or busiest sublease months.
LeaseLink’s design follows the ACAD 276 workflow:
search.php: Students choose filters (price range, housing type, etc.).
results.php: Displays matching listings and total count.
details.php: Shows full listing details, reviews, and contact info.
Intended Audience
The site is intended for the USC student community, including:
Students looking for housing: Those seeking short-term or semester-long subleases near campus.
Students offering housing: Those studying abroad or interning who need to find subtenants quickly.
Students reviewing housing: Those sharing experiences about landlords, roommates, or apartments.
While starting at USC, LeaseLink could expand to other universities in the future as a trusted student housing network.
Data-Driven Features
Dynamic dropdown menus for housing type, neighborhood, and lease length.
Result counts and average pricing data displayed dynamically.
Review system for student-generated housing feedback.
Simple stats: average rent by area, most active subleasing months, top-rated properties.
